Immunologist Consultant:
Eastern Pathology Alliance (EPA, in Norwich, United Kingdom) requires a full-time Consultant Clinical Immunologist for our Biochemistry and Immunology Department to join our dynamic team of two Chemical Pathologist consultants, two Clinical Biochemistry consultants, two Principal Biochemists and one Senior Biochemist.
We are looking for experienced, enthusiastic and motivated applicants for this post, based at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Trust (NNUH) with strong regional clinical collaboration.
The EPA Department of Clinical Biochemistry and Immunology encompasses three laboratories: the hub at NNUH, and two spokes, James Paget University Hospital and Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
EPA is the 6th largest UK laboratory in volume of tests, serving a population of approximately 1,000,000 and processing approximately 15 million immunology and biochemistry tests annually. The Department employs 135 WTE staff and EPA has an annual budget of approximately £29 million.
We provide a wide range of immunology tests, support for clinical activity, and extensive support of research.
The Immunology laboratory is UKAS accredited. This is a new Consultant position, approved to comply with ISO standards for clinician cover for UKAS accreditation of the Service.
You will have access to state-of-the-art equipment and techniques, and innovation is encouraged and supported. We have excellent links both with hospital-based clinical teams and with the University of East Anglia.
The post-holder will be expected to develop local clinical services, clinical guidelines, to undertake analytical quality leadership, method development, and to liaise with other clinical teams. The post-holder will participate in Multidisciplinary Team meetings and will contribute to quality management, teaching and training.
The hospitals are situated within convenient reach of London by both road and rail. Norwich is a delightful place to live with a fantastic coastline, beautiful countryside and villages, outstanding schools and two magnificent cathedrals.
